Ethiopian Natural – Durame Village of Kembata | Light Roast
Sourced from the Durame Village of Kembata in Ethiopia and grown at over 2,050 meters above sea level, this Grade 1 Ethiopian Heirloom coffee thrives in rich volcanic soil and cool mountain air—ideal conditions for developing exceptional sweetness, complexity, and vibrant character. Roasted to a light roast, it preserves the lively flavors that make Ethiopian naturals some of the world's most sought-after coffees.
Using a traditional natural process, the coffee cherries undergo a careful 36–48 hour fermentation before spending over two weeks drying on raised beds beneath the Ethiopian sun. This meticulous process allows the fruit's natural sugars to infuse the beans, creating a beautifully expressive cup with remarkable depth and sweetness.
The result is a vibrant, fruit-forward coffee that opens with bright Meyer lemon, followed by layers of juicy blueberry, strawberry, and rich dark chocolate. Its full, silky body and lively acidity are balanced by an above-average sweetness, creating a complex yet incredibly approachable cup that continues to reveal new flavors as it cools.
Whether brewed as a pour-over, Chemex, AeroPress, or drip coffee, this single-origin coffee showcases the extraordinary terroir of Ethiopia's highlands and the distinctive character that has made Ethiopian naturals a favorite among specialty coffee lovers.
